Nitin Deshpande

President, Eclipsys India

Nitin Deshpande joined the Eclipsys team in early 2007 as the company’s President of India operations, responsible for managing all day-to-day operations of Eclipsys India.

Mr. Deshpande came to Eclipsys from BMC Software, an enterprise management software provider, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company’s operations in India. In this role, he was responsible for planning the long-term growth of the center, research and development, support and operations teams in Finance and Accounts, Facilities, Human Resources, Marketing, and Information Technology Support. During his stay at BMC, Mr. Deshpande grew the organization from 200 to approximately 900 employees in three years.

Prior to BMC, Mr. Deshpande managed all the strategic business units and delivery support functions at Geometric Ltd., a provider of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Development Management (PDM) services and solutions. At Geometric, he successfully demonstrated his ability to control costs in a tough economic situation as he delivered consistent improvement in profitability figures each quarter during his tenure there.

Previously, Mr. Deshpande worked at Satyam Computer Services Ltd., a leading global consulting and IT services company, where he began as a leader of the SAP implementation practice in Pune, growing his group from 15 to more than 100 in just over a year. Eventually, he was promoted to run the Pune software development unit, where he was given responsibility for all operations, including quality, human resources, administration, accounts and systems administration.

In a career spanning over 27 years, Mr. Deshpande had a 12-year entrepreneurial stint that included founding companies in India and Canada, with clientele across North America. While one of these companies had a product in the Manufacturing Scheduling domain, the others provided offshore services for various manufacturing clients.

Mr. Deshpande received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB), and a Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA).
