Eclipsys Prescription Writer enables clinicians to process prescriptions electronically using the SureScripts Electronic Prescribing Network, promoting medication safety, accuracy and efficiency in the prescribing process and encouraging meaningful use of the electronic health record (EHR) through full connectivity.

With Prescription Writer, clinicians can order prescriptions that are automatically recorded to a patient’s EHR. Then they can check the prescription against the patient’s insurance and provide suggested covered alternatives. Prescription Writer performs clinical conflict analysis to assist in reducing potential drug adverse events. Additionally, the e-prescribing tool allows pharmacies to send renewal requests to the physician.
